Virginia bluebells, dogtooth violets, trilliums, crested iris and wild ginger are all Virginia spring wildflowers available in “bulb” form.
If you’ve observed these plants in the wild and noted their environments, you already have the information necessary to correctly place the flowers on your own property. If not, get some good wildflower books, visit native habitats this next spring and make notes of surrounding trees, leaf litter, soil, water features , rocks and nearby plants. This way you will learn the difference between acid and limestone soils, edge and deep woods, new and intermediate growth forests.
