Times Newspapers Staff Writer Tired of having to round up the kids and spouse for the old family holiday portrait? Try replacing your uncooperative brood with one or all of the household pets — they make excellent holiday greeting cards. Taking photos of animals sounds harder than it is. Some of the best pet portraits don’t come from the animals with pedigrees, either.
Getting your beloved pet to show his personality is the tricky part of the process. Of course, just like taking pictures of children, it depends on the pet. Some critters are, to say the least, camera shy, but with the right incentive (namely food) some can be downright hams. All you need are a couple of hours and some patience. And don’t forget to reward the little darling after the mission is accomplished.
