The annual magazine subscription campaign conducted by student salesmen of Rappahannock County High School started Oct. 26 with a goal of $600. The campaign closed Nov. 8 with sales totalling $1,012.57 The school’s share of the proceeds will be approximately 30 percent of the sales. Leading salesmen were: first, Bettie Miller; second, Ginger Russell; third, Billy Mundy and fourth, Carolyn Johnston.
Judge R.V. Snead has appointed Mrs. Sarah Latham, a Justice of the Peace in Rappahannock County effective Nov. 1. Mrs. Latham is now eligible to issue warrants.
The Forest Grove School PTA reports the harvest supper held earlier this month was most successful. Proceeds will be used to purchase a moving picture projector and horizontal bars for the playground.
A Civil Defense leader training meeting was held last Monday night at Rappahannock County High School. In charge of the Civil Defense organization in Rappahannock is W.H. Lyne, who stated he had received better response from this group of volunteer workers than from any group with which he has been associated in his 27 years as a County Agent.
