Dennis, and some of the Commissioners stressed that the lighting ordinance affected only commercial installations, and was not directed toward farms or private residences. Commissioner Junk did say that he “would feel better if we answered the petition from Amissville (signed by 150 residents opposed to a lighting ordinance) even thought objections were made before we had anything.” Commissioner L.G. Zindel suggested a further revision of the draft to delete the requirement that sign lighting be turned off at the close of business. and Ron Frazier asked for the elimination of the ‘replacement or repair” phrase in the exemptions section of the ordinance.
