together
If you know you are going to be making a scrapbook about your trip, include items like the plane ticket, registration at the hotel, brochures, guidebooks, maps of the area, menus, business cards, words to a poem or song you heard on your trip.
To make your book by hand, first make a prototype out of materials you have around the house, cardboard from a cereal box, construction paper etc. This saves you from destroying your good papers before you really understand how to put the book together.
“Once you have built your prototype, then you can shop around for materials for the final book,” she said. “Be sure to use archival papers and matte boards. They are acid-free.
“Cereal boxes are not acidfree and construction paper will lose its vibrant color in a year. By using archival stock your book will last well into the next century.”
