A couple of weeks ago several Rappahannock residents joined tailgate host Thom Pellikaan at the 70th running of the Montpelier Steeplechase Races.
These races sure held annually at Montpelier in Orange County, home of former President James Madison. Thousands of race goers from all around the United States and Europe were in attendance.
Thom has been attending these races for a number of years and was always entered in the contest for the best tailgate party. After winning this contest for artistic presentation and food quality each year he attended, the contest was discontinued.
Thom who has been a familiar face in Rappahannock for a number of years, recently moved to Red Oak Mountain from Culpeper County.
