This week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, many people will take the time to reflect upon and appreciate all that they have for which they can be thankful. The following are local residents’ responses to the question, “What are you thankful for about Sperryville?”
“We can see the stars, especially in winter. Everything you need is right here. To paraphrase Garrison Keillor: If the Corner Store, ECOW, FT Valley, etc. don’t have it, you probably don’t need it. If you really need it, you can get it via the Internet and don’t have to drive, park, get through intensive assaults on sight and ears, and long lines. More and more land is going into conservation easements. The school system seems to be effective and cost-effective. Most of the time it is so quiet you can hear the leaves rustle, the birds sing, and the wind move. Small growers
