effective?
Some residents are concerned that the camouflage effect used to hide the towers has lessened its effectiveness. According to McCarthy, that is not the case.
“Height will not help. You need to be within six miles from the signal without obstruction. That is why there are small towers scattered about in the county,” said McCarthy.
As a point of interest, when Verizon Wireless was called by a reporter to check why roaming updates have been unsuccessful throughout Rappahannock County, the operator said, “There are cell towers in Rappahannock County?”
