Ran out of shots
The Health Department ran out of shots in each location with a total of 1,700 shots given throughout the district. An additional 1,300 vaccines were received by Rappahannock-Rapidan District and were designated for nursing homes and assisted living facilities. More vaccine coming
Virginia is scheduled to received approximately 100,000 to 150,000 more vaccines in December or January, but Dr. Lilian Peake, Health Director for the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District, is not certain if those are slated to be shipped to private physicians or to public heath departments.
“If there is enough vaccine left over, availability may go outside the target group, but we are not certain if there will be any vaccine left over yet,” said Peake.
