protect yourself and others:
• Be certain to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of it immediately.
• Wash your hands with soap and water often, especially after coughing or sneezing and if possible use an alcoholbased hand cleanser.
• Stay away from people who are sick.
• If you get the flu, please stay home from work or school so you don’t make others sick also.
• Try not to touch your eyes, nose and mouth because this is the leading way germs are spread.
• If you are still in need of a flu shot and do fit the most needy criteria, contact your local health department or physician in December and January to see if more vaccine is available.
According to Dr. Peake, flu season is the worst during February and March, therefore receiving a vaccine in December or January will be perfect timing.
