According to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, Rappahannock County is one of the top four counties in the state that has easement projects. The others are Fauquier, Loudoun and Clarke counties.

Rappahannock currently has 116 easements which encompasses 16,186.55 acres of land.

Currently, Fauquier County holds the most easements with 317 which includes 50,466.56 . acres.

Of the small group of spectators, many asked valuable questions. Jennifer Matthews, member of the Board of Zoning Appeals, asked if the process was difficult and how to go about learning more about easements. Dennis referred her to the VOF web site and advised her that obtaining an easement is truly an easy process.
