Residents have seen Avon Hall on as an item on local government meeting agendas over the past two years and are still asking, “What is the future of Avon Hall?”
It comes up as a topic again, slated for discussion at the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors’ meeting on Dec. 6 in relation to the “Town of Washington Sewage Alternatives” item on the agenda.
The 19-acre property was purchased by the Town of Washington on Sept. 23, 2002 for $920,000 from the estate of William Carrigan. According to Mayor Gene Leggett, it i6 not actively for sale at this time.
