Coon hunting

When I was a young boy Bobby also took me coon hunting. We would take a lantern and his coon dog. It would be so cold some nights that I would look at the lantern and wish I could get inside it. I would say to myself, “When I get home, I will never go coon hunting again.” However, a few nights later Bobby would get his lantern and rifle and ask me if I wanted to go. It’s funny how I could never remember just a few nights earlier that I swore never to go coon hunting again.

Bobby also taught me a lot i about fishing. On summer nights we would go in the hollow to a hole of water and fish for eels. Everything Bobby did he took seriously.

When I was about 12 years old, Bobby bought a Model A Ford. He would drive it around the hollow, which was a dirt road, much faster than he probably should have. There was very little traffic at that time. One time we were driving up Thomas Hill and a front wheel came off. We quickly caught it before it went over a steep
