I am writing in response to an

article eflkd, “RCES allows stu(Mtt to wear pro-life T-shirt to school” (Nov. 18 edition of the Rappahannock News).

I admire the young lady’s passionate convictions and willingness to stand for what she believes in. In today’s society, it is an important characteristic to possess.

However, I do not feel that blatantly displaying such a controversial, highly personal message is appropriate at school. I strongly support our First Amendment’s right to free speech but I also believe that there is a time and a place for everything. I do not believe a picture of an unborn fetus belongs in school — especially an elementary school with children ages five to 13.
