protest in English history, more than 420,000 people marched in London to protest the banning of foxhunting. If the English government is allowed to criminalize a law-abiding minority, whose right to hunt is supported by a majority of England’s citizens, no minority is safe from the same kind of vindictive prejudice.
The use of the Parliament Act to force the bill’s passage is a major injustice to a substantial minority of British citizens who support country life. It shows the Blair government has no tolerance for compromise and is willing to demolish hundreds of years of traditional country pursuits at the expense of Britain’s rural citizens, for the sake of party prejudice.
