Dec. 3,1964
Flint Hill 4-H members purchased a new sign and erected it on Route 522 at the top of the mountain. The old sign, which was of a similar nature, had been erected about eight years ago by the Flint Hill Senior 4-H club. Helping with the task of erecting the new sign were Susan Dodson, secretaiy; Ronald Dodson, Eleanor Rector, president; Dale Welch and Joan Dodson. By coincidence, Randall Updike, formerly of Rappahannock, who had helped put up the original sign, came by just as the old sign was being removed.
Named outstanding 4-ffers of the year in Rappahannock County are Tommy Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.V. Williams, Castleton, and Gloria Durden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Durden, Sperryville. This was announced at the annual Rappahannock 4-H Achievement program held in Washington. Each was presented with an award from the Rappahannock bank.
