While the DEQ is working on a permit, WW & Associates of Lynchburg, Virginia will be working on the first stage of its proposal — waste collection.

Herb White, engineer with WW & Associates, reported to council that there would be a series of collection pumps throughout the town, with wastewater moving from the houses to underground pipes in the streets.

In the coming months, staff from WW & Associates will be seen around the town, studying lots to find the best placement of sewer pumps.

“This will be at least a 12-month process,” said White.

In a roll call, the council voted unanimously to accept WW & Associates’ proposal for wastewater collection and a conveyance system.
