Softball registration

Piedmont Softball Association, the Babe Ruth League International affiliate based in Amissville has set registration dates for its spring program.

Open to all girls ages 5-18 years of age (born anytime in 1986 through 1999) residing in Rappahnnock County, the fee is $40 for girls 12 and younger and $45 for girls ages 13-18. Players new to Piedmont must bring their original birth certificate at time of registration.

PSA offers both a regular season game schedule, as well as tournament play for any girls interested. Every Piedmont team has opportunities to play other PSA and neighboring Babe Ruth teams, as well as teams with different affiliations.

Registration is from 9 a.m. until noon on the following Saturdays: Jan.22, Jan. 29 and Feb. 12 at Bill Payne Auctions, Route 211, Amissville between Early’s Carpet and Mayhugh’s Store. For more information, call 937-4142, 6753729 or 937-5595.

Baseball registration

The Rappahannock Athletic Association will hold its spring baseball registration from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Amissville Fire House and from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Jeffersonton Community Center.

All players will receive raffle tickets either 50 or 75, depending upon your league, to sell for $1 each. By selling the tickets you can recoup all of your registration fee and your child/children play for free.

If you are new to RAA, please bring a copy of your birth certificate to registration.

Leagues and registration fees for T-ball ages 5-6 years old is $50, Rookies 7-8 years old is $75, Minors ages 9-12 is $75,13 years old is $75 and Babe Ruth ages 14-18 is $75.

RAA has a website and you may choose to register online. The address is www.rappculpbaseball.com.
