The t?am entered the season with a coach who is new to basketball. With one game left in the season, the team stands proud of its 4-7 recoi^l.
Although he had never coached basketball before, Rich Hogan wanted the players to have a chance to play basketball so he agreed to be the coach.
Hogan has encouraged physical conditioning, playing hard and fast, with their head in the game.
As the season has progressed, both coach and players have learned together, combining past knowledge with good basic skills.
As for the key to the team’s success, Hogan said, “Team work, the boys work together and pass the ball. Thpy don’t worry about who is scoring the points.”
The Panthers posted a win last week against Luray, high scorers for the team Daniel Rollins, Dean Hogan, Gavin Forrest and Patrick Hanberry each scored 10 points.
The team’s final game will be played on Friday at 4 p.m. at RCHS.
