Building project
There will be a Women Build training on-location event taking place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan.22.
A shed/playhouse, partially completed at workshops last fall, and built by women volunteers,will be towed to the Rankin Hardware parking lot area. There, the women volunteers will continue their training for all to observe. Also on site will be various stations where information leaflets may be obtained, opportunities for those interested to sign up for volunteer activities, and many other fun activities to promote and raise funds for the Women Build project.
The family of Tyann Smith has been chosen as the recipient of the home to be built in the spring of 2005, by women crews at Lot 21, Sterling Court in Warrenton.
The groundbreaking ceremony for this home will be on Feb. 12, and the start of the building will be on March 19.
Bible Study
A bible study taught at the Rappahannock Library started at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18 and will run for nine weeks.

Center for Civil War History
An inaugural luncheon will be held at Rappahannock County High School at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22 celebrating the creation of the Center for Civil War History created by Lord Fairfax Community College.
A lecture entitled “Southern Women: What They Meant to the Confederacy” will be given by director Jonathan A. Noyalas followed by a question and answer period.
Cost for the luncheon/lecture is $20. Pre-registration is required.
