Rappahannock Junior Panther wrestlers hosted Grace Metz Middle School of Manassas Park last week, posting a 44-27 win.
In the 75-pound weight class, Rappahannock’s Cody Casey tech-fallec Grape Metz’s Patrick Heggenbotham in the third period.
Panther Greg Flournoy got a :37 pin against Grace Metz’s Jeff Johnson in the 80-pound division, while Conner Miller put six more on the board for Rappahannock, pinning Tim Haggerty in :56 at 90-pounds.
Rappahannock posted 18 on the board in 2:20 total, pinning in the 105, 119 and 125pound divisions with Daniel Clements’ taking :57, Chris Lee’s pin in :40 and Jacob Racer’s pin in a mere :35.
Rappahannock’s Jeremy Diley pinned Grace Metz’s Alex Vleyca in 1:27 at 189pounds, edging the team score higher.
State competition
Earlier this month, several Junior Panther grapplers traveled to Old Dominion University to compete in the Virginia Challenge Middle School State Competition.
