have found in my years working in New Jersey and Virginia that people are not turning to the faith community, but to the secular community,” Danielsen said. “Spiritual Care Support Ministries wants to change that.”
The center, located at 76 West Shirley Ave. in Warrenton, began serving the community in May, 2004, but the official opening did not happen until September of last year.
“We are hoping people from all of the surrounding areas will use the center,” said Dorothy Slaga, public relations chairman for SCSM.
While most of the focus for the center is on those who are sick or dying, a clergy breakfast is also offered to encourage pastors who deal with members of their congregations who are in need.
