A big distraction?
I guess three times is the charm.
The Bush Administration is adamant that their plan does nothing at all to address the problem with Social Security. Apparently it really is just a big distraction.
Tb give them credit, though, they do argue that.some people’s retirement plans will be bigger if we take this route — so long as the stock market does well.
Maybe that’s enough reason to approve this big new government program it anyway, even though it doesn’t help the looming fiscal crunch at all. But that’s a question for another day.
Since it has nothing to do with the looming fiscal difficulties of Social Security, there’s no hurry to think about it. Meanwhile, what should we do about Social Security financing?
Someone should ask the President about that.
