My husband Danny has another “ Believe It —Yes Or No.” These stories were called in by Mrs. Katherine Riley of Amissville. Mrs. Riley, has been a highly respected historian in our community for many years. She reports this story as she heard it from others.
A previous “Believe It — Yes Or No” story mentioned this individual before.
This lady lived near Laurel Mills. As previously reported, she was the one that was deceased in her home as unknowing Christmas carolers sang outside.
According to Mrs. Riley, she remembers her as being a very unusual person and as a child, she and her friends, were scared of her. She dressed in many layers of feed sack dresses, so many layers, that it was hard to recognize her as a person.
