Through the cooperation and joint efforts of the Sheriff’s departments in Fauquier, Stafford and Culpeper counties, the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Department was able to make the arrests of three subjects who had burglarized a residence near Amissville recently. According to Sheriff W. A. Buntin, personal property valued in excess of $1,600 was recovered.
Scout Leaders in Amissville were recognized for length of service at Saturday’s Blue and Gold dinner meeting. Silas M. Martin, Cub Master, has served seven years as a youth leader, while his wife Thelma has worked with the youngsters for six years. Kyle Morrison is District Scout Executive working from the council headquarters in Winchester, and was a guest speaker at the banquet.

Mrs. Iva Lam of Amissville was recently selected as “Homemaker of the Year” for Rappahannock. Her name will be added to the plaque held by Mrs. Helen Smith, Home Extension Agent. Mrs. Lam is a member of the Amissville Homemakers Club and was selected for this honor by Mrs. Charlie Priest, president.
