First, Weinberg asked that the barrels located within the town be filled with plants or flowers to improve the looks of the town.
Council member Claudia Mitchell said she would contact Amissville Nursery immediately to have plants placed in the barrels as soon as possible.
Weinberg also requested that the Tbwn of Washington website, located on the Internet at www.town.washington.va.us/ government/, be updated.
According to the website, it has not been updated since August 2002.
“It makes the town look unpolished not to have flowers planted and not to have a website,” said Weinberg, “Something really has to be done.”
Council agreed that a professional should be consulted to make the proper updates to the government site.
Bill Tiechermann also questioned how the historic zoning survey has been going as he has seen consultant Cheryl Shepherd, of Warrenton, taking pictures around town.
Mitchell reported that Shepherd expects to have a preliminary report by the end of February.
