Friday Night at the Flicks

“Shark Tale” will be shown at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18 at The Theatre on Gay Street. The film is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community.

Smithsonian at Little Washington

A final concert of the Smithsonian series will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street.

Photographer Lends a Hand

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 1, and on each Tuesday in February, photographer and documentary filmmaker Lon Holmberg will be at the Arts Center in Orange from 4 to 5 p.m. to talk with you about your photographs. Bring pictures. This program is free and is open to everyone. Students are especially encouraged to participate.

Awards Ceremony

Chester Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be sponsoring their community dinner and awards ceremony on Feb. 19. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. All those attending are asked to bring a covered dish, meat and drinks will be provided. For questions call Kevin Williams at 635-8255.

GED classes

“Race to GED” classes are now available in Rappahannock County on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Registration for this class will be Feb.14 thru Feb. 21. Class registration will be first come, first served since class size is limited. Call 825-0476 in order to register and for further information on how to enroll.

Cheesecake Raffle

The Rappahannock County High School Wrestling team is holding a raffle to win a cheesecake from www.cheesecake.com. Anyone interested in donating $1 per ticket to the wrestling team can contact Coach Eric Spath at Rappahannock County High School at 987-8575 or any member of the team no later than Feb. 21. The proceeds will go toward the team traveling to state competition in Salem, Va.
