Be Gentle brings $2.1 million
Virginia-bred multiple graded stakes winner Be Gentle, the 2003 Virginia-bred Horse of the Year, sold for $2.1 million at the Keeneland, Ky. sales. The mare was in foal to leading sire A.P. Indy. Bred by Nellie Mae Cox and Rose Retreat Farm, the dark bay by Tale of the Cat out of the Risen Star mare Gentlelilstar, won over $523,000.
