The English native was runnerup in the ladies’ division last term on Virginia’s circuit.
“I grew up riding ponies and pony races,” Hogben said; the 25year-old apprentice is now based in Millwood with trainer Jimmy Day. “I decided I wanted to ride races, and every rider under the age of 21 must do a 10-week course at the British Racing School.
