The first joint meeting of the Washington Town Council and the Washington Planning Commission was held Monday night to discuss the revised Comprehensive Plan.
Milton Herd was the special guest speaker.
Herd, the president of Herd Planning and Design, Ltd. of Leesburg, Va., has been contracted by the town to assist in the planning of the Comprehensive Plan.
The meeting opened with continued business by town council that was from its monthly meeting last week.
In a unanimous vote by council, WW & Associates were retained to continue forward with water storage tank engineering.
The agency will prepare the proposal for bids to be obtained for the work to be done for the town.
The cost for this, preparation will be $2,500.
Once bids are received, WW & Associates will evaluate the bids, costing the town an additional $10,000 for their services.
The meeting was then turned over to Planning Commissioner Gary * Schwartz of Washington, who introduced Herd and his associate, Vlad Gavrilovic of Paradiem Designs.
Herd gave an oral presentation accompanied by a visual presentation of the Town of Washington as it appears today.
