“It’s pretty hard to teach a rider to do all this, when it’s so foreign to other sports, but it’s easier when I can ride along with young riders and tell them, ‘Mimic me. Do it like this.’ Then they can look over and see my lower leg forward, my hip angle open, not fighting my horse, and they see it’s not so hard.”

And in 2003 Tiffany Mueller also learned from Yovanovich, taking his riding lessons from start to finish in her ladies’ and novice rider championships.
