Waites’ future
Waites has been approached about playing as a reserve with the newly-emerging Washington Freedom, a professional team out of Washington, D.C. dining summer breaks from college.
As for academics, Waites is still undecided about her major at Ohio University.
“I’m not sure what I want to do with the rest of my life,” Waites said. “This (soccer) has kept me focused, but there are a lot of things I want to do that are not related to soccer.”
One of the first things at college she is looking forward to is finally having a social life.
“I will be right there, in one place, and that will be great,” Waites said with a smile.
“This is a marriage made in heaven!,” said her mother, Lanise Coats.
