The students who entered this year’s competition were predominately from the Amissville area and ranged in age from 9 to 16 years old. Their performances included both voice (alto and mezzo-soprano) and instruments (including trombone, piano, saxophone, French horn, and trumpet).
Musical numbers included classical and contemporary as well as religious. “Wild Honeysuckle Rag” played on the piano by Caroline Massey was applauded fortissimo along with classical pieces like Dvorak’s “New World Symphony” played on the French horn by Sarah Wheatley.
Certainly a highlight of the afternoon was the two-version
