Alan Sorkin’s play “A Few Good Men” comes to The Theatre at Washington, Virginia for two performances, on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2:30 p.m., in a production by students from Georgetown University.
The play, first produced in 1989, was a success on Broadway, wanning the Outer Critics Circle Award. It was then adapted bv the author for a film of the same name, which starred Tbm Cruise and Jack Nicholson. In 1992 the film was runner up for Best Picture (Drama) in the Golden Globe Awards.
The upcoming production at the Theatre is by Georgetown University’s Theater Program and the Black Theater Ensemble. The producers say that the play, w hich is set in Guantanamo Bay, is about honor, and pits officer discipline against abuse of power. It keeps audiences guessing as to who is responsible for a
