“My job is so exciting,” says Scheuerlein. “I get to show students the wonder of growing plants and keeping the magic in farming. I hope that some of these students will decide that they want to farm here while conserving our soil and our water. ”
Elementary school students and their parents had a chance to meet Scheuerlein and find out more about the new Exploratory class earlier this month. Some of the plans for the new exploratory class include creating a design for an outdoor garden classroom at the elementary school, learning various plant propagation techniques, creating worm compost, and studying the origins of food.
