The Annual Dog Mart, sponsored by the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, Saturday, October 2, 1965. The mart revives a custom which dates back to 1698, when the colonists and the Pamunkey Indians were traders. The white man coveted the valuable furs, gold and other articles of the Indians. The Indians coveted the exceptionally fine hunting dogs of the white men. As a result the dog mart started. This is the only time in the history of man that he has laid down his guns for dogs. The Dog Mart begins with a parade through the downtown section of the city at 10:00 a.m. The parade consists of people and their dogs of all ages, sizes and descriptions. It _
