Une could easily see the colorful inspiration that the French region brings to the designs that are produced by the Le Jacquard Francais tablecloth factory. Because the Ballard’s carry Le Jacquard Francais table linens in their shop, it was this looming factory that was the primary focus of their busy 4-day visit to the small town of Gerardmer, France.
A brief history of Le Jacquard Francais company is in order here. This company was founded in 1888, in the north-east Vosges region of France where several other linen factories were also being established (Gamier Theibaut, Beauville - also carried in the Ballard shop). Le Jacquard Francais’ reputation spans over 115 years, including surviving two World Wars which resulted in twice destroying the looming factory and the town. The resilience of the town is definitely reflected in the artistry of each tablecloth.
