a larger wing on the right, which has added a library and sunroom on the main level. Both additions have matched the exterior work of the original expert stonemasons.
The front entrance to High Meadow, reached by a new curving stone stairway, is a recently uncovered intricately carved wooden doorway and surround, believed to predate the house and to have come * from a rectory in Philadelphia. The entrance hall has an original fireplace, and the paintings and accessories mirror the owner’s interest in horses, hunting, and the beauty of the Blue Ridge area. In the living room, deep window wells attest to the depth of the stone walls. The original wood floor is now honored by a large Aubusson rug whose golden color harmonizes with the upholstery of the sofas and chairs. Old Herend china pieces accent the room, as well as interesting occasional tables and lamps.
