Francis appears with a bouquet of freshly cut flowers in lavender hues. “They're for a special arrangement,” she remarked.
Francis not only does all the floral arrangements but her handiwork can be found in all the new draperies and curtains.
“She’s also my resident grandmother,” laughed Barten. “I wouldn’t want her going anywhere.”
Barten has a five-year-old son, Philip, who just started kindergarten this year.
Francis is also The Griffin’s baker of pies and many are so popular that customers will order them ahead.
Drink and entertainment
The Griffin Tavern features an eclectic variety of beers - many of them on tap.
‘Oh, that’s Mr. Boddington,” said Barten, as a sleek golden colored cat walked beneath a patio table. “He’s named after one of our beers.”
