Allow me to introduce
myself. I am 12 and have a growing interest in skateboarding. These past few months I have been visiting various skateparks in Virginia and it has come to my attention how far skateparks can go. If you have been to the Rappahannock Park (across from the Town of Washington) you may have seen what is supposed to be a ' skatepark. Upon closer inspection you’ll see it is an asphalt pad (which is not the correct kind of pavement for a skatepark), a smashed ramp with nails that could seriously injure someone, a broken gutter with a sharp rusty edge and a wooden box splintered to bits.
I appreciate the efforts that others have made in creating this place for skaters but I think it’s time we take it to the next level. Let’s improve our skatepark! A more functional skatepark would do a lot of good things for our county. It would help keep kids out of trouble. It would keep skaters off thetown streets by giving them a
