The Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill is a bit pubbier now. It has an authentic English born general manager in the person of Louisa Barten.
“I’m having a lot of fun,” smiled the enthusiastic Barten who previously worked at the Inn at Little Washington and before that was in the hospitality. industry in England. She’s been in the United States for about five years now.
“I don’t even think of England as my home anymore,” said Barten as she looked wistfully toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. “I have a home in Sperryville. It’s absolutely lovely here and the people are so warm. If s a wonderful community.”
