Hurricane relief walk
The young members of Girl Scout Troop 143 in Amissville invite everyone in Rappahannock County to join them in a walk for hurricane relief.
The girls will walk around the track at the Rappahannock County High School on Saturday, September 24th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Join the girls and help support relief for the thousands made homeless by Hurricane Katrina. All are welcome, young and old, boys and girls. The county-wide walk is being organized by the parents and girls of Troop 143, of the Amissville United Methodist Church.
“We are eager to have those of all faiths join our girls in this relief effort,” said Melissa Baldwin, troop co-leader.
The troop suggests a donation of at least $10.00 per person; $25 per family.
All contributions are tax deductible. Checks should be make out to AUMC (Amissville United Methodist Church). Troop co-leader Hedy Paul pointed out that all monies donated go directly to help those in need; there are no administrative charges deducted.
