This fieldstone home was built in the 1790’s as a threestory structure, with chimneys at either end, and three windows on each floor. Its beauty is a tribute to the original builders and owners, as well as to Thomas G. Walker, Jr., the current owner, who has recently completed three years of extensive improvements, rebuilding, and thoughtful renovations to both house and property. His goal was not to change the house, but to return it to its original proud state. And as visitors take in the stone walls, patios, terrace, and swimming pool, they can imagine two hundred years of Rappahannock history.
Two hundred plus years is a long time and the house has had some additions. In 1941, a wing and staircase were added, and Walker has just completed
