When all was said and done, Parker sentenced Waymond James Edwards Jr., 29, of Warrenton, to four years in prison with all but one year suspended. He will be on three years of supervised probation, subject to specific terms and conditions, once he is released.
In addition to incarceration and probation, Edwards will face other consequences, the judge said.
'You will have to noisier with the | State Police as a sex onender and you will be prohibited from going within 100 feet of any school," Parker told him. "The stigma of being branded a sex offender will be with you for the rest of your life."
Addressing Parker prior to sentencing, Edwards apologized to the victim' and her family, and said he takes full responsibility for his actions.
