many things that need to be done to get ready.
You have to get some apples'. You have to clean and set up the stove. You have to get some wood. You know the list. Everyon? has one. And, all of nature seems to be in the same rush mode.
At the same time, the oppressive heat and humidity has slackened. There are a few less bugs, the grass in the yard doesn’t demand all your time, and there is a wonderful, almost sinful, temptation to just lay back and let it happen.
April may, indeed, be the cruelest month, but October comes along and makes up for a whole lot
Enjoy what is left of this wonderftil month. Yes, go ahead and do your chores, but, every once in a while, give in to the sweet temptation of autumn.
Condolences
Our community mourns the loss of Maynard Nethers, of Stephens City, who passed away last week. Maynard was bom and raised in Flint Hill. We are also saddened to learn of the passing of John Ralph, who lived here in the village. Our sympathies and condolences are extended to the families of both of these gentlemen.
