furnishings, along with boxes and boxes of rare finds and fun handiwork - such is a typical load to be arranged, rearranged, and bungee’d for a ride to CCLC’s storage space, defying logic and the laws of physics, but not the will of a hardworking CCLC volunteer.

A year's worth

One full year in the making, each auction is a triumph of hunting and gathering, not to mention the elbow grease required to refresh and refurbish items so that they yield maximum value on behalf of the children CCLC serves. The huge undertaking is spearheaded by the Friends of CCLC, a committee of volunteers cochaired by Amy Burnett and Debbie Donehey.

An entrance fee of $25 helps to cover the cost of a lavish spread of food and drink that is a much-anticipated part of the evening’s festivities. Mary Arthur’s Culinary Arts program from RCHS is responsible for
