Wellemeyer and Henderson had planned to take the donations to Biloxi, Mississippi, through a contact they had made with Grassroots Relief Services. When information was not forthcoming in time for their departure, Wellemeyer’s father, who lives in Covington, Mississippi, coordinated a drop off to Pass Christian, Mississippi, which is % of a mile inland from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
