Volleyball
The RCHS Panther Varsity Girl's Volleyball team sustained their first loss this season on Tuesday, falling to Bull Run District rival Strasburg 2 sets to 1. The Panthers had been an astounding 13-0 before the loss, and had soundly defeated Clarke 3-2 at RCHS just the Thursday before facing Strasburg. Interestingly, the Panthers received their first loss last year from Strasburg as well. The Panthers go on to face Madison on Thursday and George Mason in Falls Church on October 18.
Football
The RCHS Football team played their first close game of the season in their Homecoming game on October 8, losing to the Chincoteague Ponies 12-6. The game was a wet and muddy defensive struggle, with most of the action occurring in the final minutes. Running back Bobby Czekaj scored on an 88 yard touchdown, pass, but Chincoteague ran the ensuing kickoff all the way back for the winning touchdown. As part of the homecoming festivities at RCHS on Friday, freshmen football’player Daniel Rollins was recognized for setting a school record of six touchdowns in a single game against Luray.
Cross Country
The RCHS Cross Country team came in at third out of five teams in a match at Clarke County High School in Berryville, VA on Wednesday October 5. Alex Ramey came in fifth overall and Josh Makela
