Powerful first-hand stories of devastation and unspeakable grief—and yet hope^—were told by two Rappahannock citizens who actually went down to the disaster area to offer their assistance. Among the most moving stories were those told by Barbara Adolfi, a mental health counselor from Sperryville. She traveled on her own and provided professional crisis counseling for two weeks in Pascagoula, Mississippi to counsel survivors and listen to their stories.
