A clerk at the Hillsdale Country Store on US-211 called the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department to report the theft of a package of chewing gum priced at $.69. According to the clerk, Karl Laing-Peterson, of Amigsville, became belligerent and angry after the clerk saw him taking the gum and asked him to pay for it. The 18-year-old LaingPeterson was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny by Deputy Breeden of the RCSD.
